Developing Cadre Education: Reform or Revolution this Saturday

Attend the second Developing Cadre Education meeting…
REFORM OR REVOLUTION (with Jason F.)

SATURDAY, JAN 21ST, 6-8PM
NORTH VILLAGE DELI EMPORIUM (8TH AVE & 14TH ST.)
* Please bring a couple dollars to purchase something since they are letting us use the 2nd floor for discussion, and dress warm (it was chilly last week)
In 2012 we’re faced with a number of serious challenges: Could another, better Obama deliver the hope and change that never arrived in 2008? Could tighter regulation permanently restrict Wall Street’s ability to destroy our lives? What should the role of Occupy Wall Street be – to hold hold our noses and support the Democrats. Or to abstain from demanding any reforms at all?

Written 112 years ago, Rosa Luxemburg’s Reform or Revolution is still a necessary tool in explaining why the socialist strategy should be neither assimilation nor abstention.

On Saturday three main points will be covered in the kickoff, before opening up to discussion: 1) Why the system cannot be reformed, 2) The role of reforms in building revolutionary movement, and 3) Applying Reform or Revolution today. Join us to discuss these, and any questions from your conversations, organizing, or from the readings below related to this topic.
